Installation guide Optinex (Desktop)

Pre-requisites

  1. ForestX have created an account for your user, you will then be able to login using your company's Microsoft Account
  2. The IP-address used when connecting has been whitelisted by ForestX
  3. Download and install OLED DB Driver (available from microsoft webpage), this is needed for the Desktop application to connect to the azure database. 2023-02-21 14_29_12-Download Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server - OLE DB Driver for SQL Server _.png
  4. When downloading OLE DB Driver you might get the following error directing you to the following webpage: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2219560 1234.png
  5. If you encountered the message in the point above, follow the link and install the necessary package: 2023-03-15 08_58_08-Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads _ Microsoft Learn och 8 si.png

Download and start Optinex

  1. Download zip-file provided by ForestX (Optinex release XX)
  2. Move zip-file to destination folder
  3. Unpack the zip-file
  4. The application is called "OptiNex.exe", double click to run (tip: add a desktop shortcut for easy access in the future)
  5. When starting Optinex all the login fields will be blank. Click on Login to continuePicture2.png
  6. Select your account Picture3.png
  7. Now the fields in the login screen will be populated – Select DB and click login Picture4.png
  8. First time logging in the panels might need to be adjusted (1) and Calculation scope (2) and active plan (3) Picture5.png
  9. Copy the user settings from another user, in the company or from a ForestX user (to get relevant initial settings): Tools--> Options--> User--> Copy from user Picture6.png
